The market
Everything for the week's cooking, from fresh produce to the pantry items you cannot find in a regular grocery store.
One stop
The market, the restaurant and the butcher counter are all under one roof, so a grocery run, dinner and next week's meat happen in a single visit.
Down the aisles
Twelve aisles of the things a week of cooking actually needs, and the things you would otherwise drive across town for.
-
Fresh Produce
Herbs by the bunch and the vegetables a regular grocery store does not stock: molokhia, okra and eggplant, cilantro, green chillies, tomatillos and curry leaves.
-
Rice & Grains
Basmati for biryani, short grain for maqluba and kabsa, bulgur for tabbouleh and kibbeh, freekeh, couscous, and long grain for arroz.
-
Bread & Bakery
Pita and shrak baked for the week, naan and roti, and tortillas: the bread each of these kitchens actually eats.
-
Olives, Pickles & Preserves
Green and cured olives by weight, pickled turnips and torshi, jalapeños en escabeche, and mango achar.
-
Olive Oil, Ghee & Oils
Olive oil from the region, samneh and ghee, and corn and sunflower oil by the jug, in the sizes people actually buy.
-
Spices & Seasonings
Za'atar, sumac and seven spice, garam masala and turmeric, comino and chile, whole or ground, and stocked in quantity rather than in tiny jars.
-
Nuts, Dates & Dried Fruit
Pine nuts for the top of a platter, almonds and pistachios, Medjool dates for Ramadan and for gifts, apricots and raisins.
-
Dairy & Cheese
Labneh and thick yoghurt, nabulsi, akkawi, halloumi and feta, paneer, and queso fresco and crema.
-
Tahini, Beans & Pantry
Tahini by the tub, chickpeas and foul, lentils in every colour, tomato paste, and the tinned goods a full pantry runs on.
-
Frozen
Kibbeh and sambousek ready for the fryer, paratha and samosa, molokhia and okra out of season, and frozen vegetables.
-
Coffee, Tea & Drinks
Coffee ground with cardamom, black tea by the box, karak and chai, karkade, Vimto, and the sodas and juices people grew up on.
-
Sweets & Desserts
Baklava and maamoul, halva, mithai, dulces, and everything for a tray of kunafa at home.

Can't find something? Ask us to carry it
If there is a product from back home, a brand or an ingredient you cannot find on our shelves, tell us. We read every request and we will let you know if we can bring it in.
Thank you. We received your product request and sent you a confirmation email. We will let you know if we can bring it in.
If you don't see it, ask
Our shelves follow what people ask for. If there is something from home you cannot find here (a brand you grew up on, a particular spice, a cheese), tell us. We can usually bring it in, and when enough people ask for something it stays on the shelf.
Every shelf is halal
There is no separate section here that is not halal. Every product on every shelf meets the same standard as the butcher counter and the restaurant, so you can shop the whole store without reading labels.
